Visual Manipulation

California Museum of Photography

September 20 - December 6, 2014

Reception, free admission

Saturday, November 1, 2014, 6pm - 9pm

Although photography’s primary responsibility is typically seen as documenting the world around us, this has also been circumvented to capture the world we perceive internally. Photographers have increasingly utilized the medium as a tool to study our emotional relationship to the physical world. This exhibition presents a selection of contemporary works from the permanent collection that explores the confluence of documenting physical and emotional reality by using alternative methods to clarify and capture an experience in a photograph.

Visual Manipulation is an exhibition organized by the California Museum of Photography at UCR ARTSblock, curated by Aide Jovana Esquivel, CMP collections assistant.
