California Museum of Photography
July 7 - November 25, 2018
Fall Opening Reception | Saturday, September 29, 2018, 6pm - 8pm |
Whether revealing the artistic logo of a nineteenth-century photography studio, a personal inscription describing a photograph, or labels from previous exhibitions, the information on the back of a photograph is sometimes more interesting than the image on the front. Verso explores the often-unseen back side of photographs. Using examples from the California Museum of Photography's collection, this exhibition examines the indelible marks left on photographs by photographers, museums, and individuals, and considers what they reveal to us about the objects themselves.
UCR's College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and the City of Riverside have provided support.
