Alma will be here in person at the Friday Screening.

Alma Har'el has recently emerged as the young director to watch in independent cinema. Born and raised in Tel Aviv, Har'el began her work as a photographer and a video artist. Her live video-art performances with musicians led her to directing music videos and her frequent collaborations with the band Beirut brought her awards from around the world. Her work is recognized for its astonishing fusion of dream, memory, movement, passion and dance.

Culver Center was proud to screen Har'el's first feature Bombay Beach. Her latest work, a provocative short film Fjögur Píano for the Icelandic band Sigur Ros featuring Shia-LaBeouf, has gone viral. Culver will screen videos made for Beirut, Shearwater, Jack Penate, and Sigur Ros. Alma Har'el will be present at Culver Center on Friday to introduce the films and discuss her work.
