LOS MORENO explores the lives of Latino deaf youth navigating family and community. The work recently received a national Kennedy Center Award. This special event includes an interactive music experience by "artivists" Martha Gonzalez and Quetzal Flores and a special introduction to this bold new play in development by Rickerby Hinds. This event is part of a program in tribute to the life and work of Tomas Rivera, foundational Chicano author and first Mexican American Chancellor in the US appointed at the University of California, Riverside (1979-1984) who believed in the power of the creative arts and higher education to foster personal and social transformation.
