The Villa-Lobos International Chamber Music Festival, an event conceived by the cellist Lars Hoefs in collaboration with UCR Professor Paulo C. Chagas, celebrates the music of Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos (1887-1959) and other Latin American composers of the 20th and 21st centuries. The Second Villa-Lobos International Chamber Music Festival 2016 has a special emphasis on the Argentinian composer Alberto Ginastera (1916-83) for his 100th birthday year. This concert is dedicated to the friendship between Ginastera and Villa-Lobos featuring emblematic chamber music works by both composers performed by Bridget Dolkas, violin; Lars Hoefs, violoncello; and Mark Robson, piano.
